Instructions for abstract submission to SERGS 2010 (Click here to download the instructions)

Extended deadline for abstract submission: JUNE 30, 2010
Deadline for video abstract submission and sending of the videos: JUNE 10, 2010

Participants with new data or interesting videos or cases relevant to the subjects of the conference may submit an abstract/ video abstract by using the electronic abstract form.


SUBMISSION
Abstracts must be submitted through the congress website.
Do not make multiple submissions of the same abstract.
Abstracts must be prepared in English.
A confirmation with the abstract reference code will automatically be sent to the e-mail address given when submitting.
Regular mail Submissions: Will not be accepted
Fax Submissions: Will not be accepted

Videos (in MPEG or DVD format) must be submitted in two separate copies on separate CD’s on regular mail to:

Please note that videos should also be accompanied by an abstract as defined below ( Video abstract) and downloaded as described above.

Place your Abstract theme into one of the topic categories
Indicate if oral or poster (video session or computer monitor) presentation is preferred.

Typing instructions
Abstracts:
NOTE! Instead of using special characters, type the whole word: e.g "alpha"

1/ Each abstract should contain no more than 300 words.
2/ Make the title brief, clearly indicating the nature of the investigation. Use capital letters.
3/ Authors: first name and last name. e.g.: John Smith, start with the presenting author.
4/ Affiliations: name of the institutional affiliation, city and country. (no address)
5/ The abstract body should be organised as follows:
Background: Purpose of the study, preferably one sentence
Materials and methods
Results: Summary of results presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusions. Results stated in the abstracts must be complete (though concise) and final.

Tables and illustrations should be sent as PDF files to our email address: lotta@malmokongressbyra.se
Please make reference to the reference number you were given when submitting the abstract form.

Video abstracs

1/ Each video should be accompanied by an abstract as stated above (“abstracts”) replacing “materials and methods” and “results” with “ surgical procedure” including a brief summary of the case and relevant procedural information.
2/ The video should be clearly edited and have a maximum length of 6 minutes and in MPEG or DVD format.
3/ Title, authors and affiliations should be included in the beginning of the video.
4/ The video may be approved for oral presentation or presentation as a “Running video” at the poster / videoposter exhibition.

To review and make changes in your abstract
You will receive a password for login to review and make changes in your abstract. It will be possible to make changes in your abstract until the abstract deadline.

Acceptance
All abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the members of the scientific committee.

In order for your abstract to be accepted for presentation and print, you need to be registered for the conference. Should the abstract not be accepted, full repayment will be made on request.


Notification
Author notification will be made before: July 15, 2010

Presentation:
Abstracts
Abstracts can be accepted for poster or oral presentation.
Oral presentations should be prepared for 8 minutes including 2 minutes for questions.
Poster presentation:
Poster size: height 1,20 m and width 0,9 m.
Materials for the hanging of your poster will be provided at the poster desk on site.
