The importance of bleeding complications in the treatment of heart disease has gained relevant attention in recent years. The first international conference on this issue was held in Lund in October 2007. The meeting was a success.
Although new treatment algorithms have decreased bleeding complications lately, they remain a significant problem and the recent development of potent antithrombotic therapies underscores the need for further discussion.
In this second international conference on bleeding complications related to cardiac surgery, the treatment of acute coronary syndromes and atrial fibrillation, cardiologists, interventional radiologists, anaesthesiologists and surgeons will discuss theoretical and clinical practical issues.
The venue is Stadshallen, Lund in the south of Sweden, only 35 minutes away by train from Copenhagen airport.
