Välkommen till Postgraduatekurs i kardiologi 2010, 20-23 oktober
- Medfödda hjärtfel hos vuxna -
En allt större patientgrupp med medfödda hjärtfel överlever barn- och ungdomsåren och antalet vuxna med medfött hjärtfel ökar. Det är särskilt påtagligt vid komplicerade hjärtfel. Samtidigt har det visat sig att till synes ”enkla och botade” hjärtfel i vissa fall är långt ifrån enkla. Sena kardiovaskulära komplikationer är inte ovanligt. I vårduppgiften ingår också att rådge och hantera omständigheter som hör det tidiga vuxenlivet till; familjebildning, val av studier, yrke och fritidsaktiviteter.
Även om många patienter sköts på specialistmottagningar vid GUCH-centra så kommer ett delat vårdansvar med hemortssjukhuset på en lägre vårdnivå att utvecklas framöver. Hemortssjukhuset får också ofta primärt bedöma och handlägga akuta komplikationer, t ex arytmier. Kunskap om GUCH är därför väsentlig för kardiologen i gemen.
Kursens syfte är att ge en inträngande och uppdaterad kunskap om medfödda hjärtfel hos vuxna samt att ge diagnostiska och terapeutiska riktlinjer för vården av dessa patienter. Kursen vänder sig i första hand till kardiologer som arbetar med GUCH-patienter eller önskar fördjupade kunskaper inom GUCH, även övriga intresserade inom verksamhetsområdet GUCH är också mycket välkomna att delta i kursen!
Kursen 2010 är en del av Europeiska Cardiologföreningen ESC’s utbildningsprogram, och de två sista dagarna är undervisningen på engelska men fortfarande på en basal nivå.

Welcome to the
3rd European Teaching Course in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, October 22-23
Organized by the ESC working group on GUCH
Dear colleagues and friends,
It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 3rd European Teaching Course on Adult Congenital Heart Disease in Lund, Sweden, October 22-23, 2010. The course is arranged
by the “Grown-Up Congenital Heart Disease (GUCH) working group of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and previously given in Antalya, Turkey.
A growing population of patients with congenital heart defects survives into adulthood
thanks to the success of pediatric heart surgery. The adults patient with congenital
heart disease becomes more common in cardiology practice. This is obvious for patients with surgically treated complicated defects, but also simple and so called
cured defects may turn out with late cardiovascular complications at follow-up. Social considerations regarding work, family and physical activities are other issues that need attention.
Although many patients are followed at GUCH-centres, there is a great need for collaboration with regional hospitals to provide optimal care. Often, the local or regional
cardiologist has to make the first decisions in situations as arrhythmia, heart failure or pregnancy. Therefore, knowledge of congenital heart disease is of vital importance for the general cardiologist, which can make a difference.
The aim of this course is to give a first overview of this exciting and evolving subspecialty
in cardiology, as well as an update on new developments in the field. Special attention will be made on practical management, diagnostic tools and clinical guidelines.
We believe the course will be attractive not only to cardiologist, but also to anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurse specialists or others involved in the care of GUCH patients.
We also hope this will be an opportunity to meet colleagues and friends from other European countries in a beautiful Scandinavian atmosphere.
