Welcome to the 3rd International Hypothermia Symposium 2009!
On behalf of the organizing committee, we welcome you to Lund, Sweden, and the 3rd International Hypothermia Symposium September 2-5, 2009!
This unique scientific event will be of great significance for basic and clinical scientists from all around the world, interested in the expanding field of therapeutic hypothermia. The venue of the International Hypothermia Symposium rotates among the continents, and has so far been located in Tokyo and Miami, both hosting groundbreaking and highly successful meetings.
As we now bring the Hypothermia Symposium to Europe and Sweden, the land of ice and honey, the theme will be "Brain and Heart", and include cardiology and myocardial protection in addition to brain protection and neurointensive care.
The focus areas include translational and basic research and clinical trials with the following topics:
Therapeutic hypothermia in

Mechanisms of tissue protection by hypothermia
